9 | A disciple prays in faith and forgives others | 12 Commands of Christ

VISION

...........................................................................

[ Begin with sharing for one or two minutes the purpose behind discipleship. You can do this by answering the question, "What is discipleship and why do we do it?", by sharing a Scripture about discipleship (such as Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Timothy 2:2, etc.), or asking them to share in their own words why they think discipleship is important ]

FELLOWSHIP

...........................................................................

1) What is a high and a low in your life since the last time we met?

2) What is something God has been highlighting to you since the last time we met?

3) How did it go applying your obedience step from the last time we met?

4) Is there any sin you need to bring to the light so that God can bring healing in that area?

MATTHEW 6:5-15, MARK 11:22-26

...........................................................................

5 “And when you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they will be seen by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

6 But as for you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

7 And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.

8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

The Lord's Prayer

9 “Pray, then, in this way:

‘Our Father, who is in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come.

Your will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’

14 For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

15 But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses.

...

22 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

23 Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.

24 Therefore, I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted to you.

25 And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you for your offenses.

26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your offenses.”
